John W. Hickenlooper

Denver's 43rd mayor received degrees in English and Geology from Wesleyan University, and first came to Colorado to work in the oil industry. He then started one of the nation's most successful brewpubs, Denver's Wynkoop Brewing Company. His maiden political voyage, in the 2003 mayoral election, turned out to be a runaway success, and today he ranks as one of the most popular big-city mayors in the United States.
