Today is your last day to check out the product of this unique residency program during its residency period! Japan-born Ft. Collins artist Rokko Aoyama is worked with your from Jefferson County Open School to transform PlatteForum's outdoor plaza and indoor gallery into a garden installation using man-made prodeucts. They began with a study tour at the Denver Botanical Gardens and studied what makes a Japanese garden unique and different from a western garden. The project began with participation in a Japanese tea ceremony, and the students kept a journal throughout the project. The interior Garden, created by Rokko, is unique installation consisting of a salt garden and image projections on the main gallery wall. Rokko will rake the garden in new patterns every Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. The culmination of the residency opens on November 9, and features the completed indoor and outdoor installations.
The Gardens will be installed through December 2, 2005.
