We Moved to Buzz Cafe

The Kaiwa Club is an excellent opportunity to practice your Japanese conversational skills and meet other locals in the area. The cost is free, and takes place from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Buzz Café.

Japanese nationals who speak Japanese are always welcome and needed as volunteers/participants.

Kaiwa Club Format

A new Kaiwa Club format started in 2005. The new and improved Kaiwa Club meets 4 times a month and features different lessons and focuses each time. We may also have special events like movie night, cooking, hiking once a month.
Week 1 : Pair Talk (2 people)
Set topics and talk with a partner Change a partner every 10 minutes
Week 2 : Small Group Discussion (3-5 people)
Read a short article on a certain topic Discuss in small groups for 45 minutes A representative of each group will present the discussion result Q&As
Week 3 : Japanese Lesson
Study grammer, phrases, vocabularies Conversation practice using what you have learned in the lesson
Week 4 : Game Activities (2-5 groups)
Play several games related to Japan, Japanese, culture, etc.
