Monday, May 16 – Guests Arrive

Various times throughout the day, guests will arrive at Denver International Airport and be greeted by a member of our host team. Upon arrival, hosts will assist you with locating your bag(s) and will escort you to the train that will deliver you to your hotel in downtown Denver, Colorado.

Tuesday, May 17 – Orientation

You’ll start the conference with a day-long orientation on doing business in the United States and the State of Colorado. Topics covered include: Cultural similarities and differences, regional assets for businesses, legal structures and protections, costs of doing business, as well as taxes and business incentives. The orientation will allow you to meet members of the host team as well as fellow guests.

The reception and dinner will be attended by members of the host team as well as presenters from the orientation.

Wednesday, May 18 – Regional Tour and Site Visits

On the second day, you will participate in a bus tour of Denver and the surrounding communities. During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to tour the facilities of several of Colorado’s advanced industries.

You will choose one tour you wish to participate in, which will allow you to visit three businesses that operate in Colorado’s advanced industry clusters. The three tour routes you will be able to choose from will include businesses in the following industries: (Tour 1) Natural Resources, Energy, and Manufacturing; (Tour 2) Innovation, Health and Bioscience, and Information Technology; (Tour 3) Tourism

The reception and dinner will be attended by businesses and organizations that participated in the regional tour as well as elected officials from the State of Colorado and its various communities.

Thursday, May 19 – World Trade Day

On day three, you will participate in World Trade Day, Denver’s premier international business event hosted by World Trade Center Denver. The 43rd Annual World Trade Day theme is “Exploring our Trans-Pacific Partners” in keeping with the proposed free trade agreement between the United States and 11 other trading partners bordering the Pacific Ocean.

During World Trade Day, you will have the opportunity to meet with Colorado companies interested in establishing mutually beneficial relationships. Your registration fee includes two business-to-business meetings, although additional meetings can be scheduled at a cost of $150 each.

The reception and dinner will be attended by various businesses that participated in World Trade Day and the Business-to-Business meetings.

Friday, May 20 – Optional Day off or Travel Day

Day four is a day for you to discover the beauty of our great state with optional participation in a tour some of Colorado’s most stunning sites, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Goods, and wrapping up the day with some local shopping. You may choose to take this opportunity to explore Colorado on your own, tour additional businesses, or if you’d like, you can choose to travel back home.

9:00 am                        Leave for Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and Shopping at Castle Rock Outlets

5:00 pm                        Return to Hotel - Dinner on your own

Saturday, May 21 – Travel Day

Members of the host committee will escort you back to Denver International Airport where you will board a flight back to Japan.

8:00 am                        Breakfast is served

Various                         Guests leave for Denver International Airport

 

COST

The cost to participate in the Japan-Colorado Business Conference is $6,500 USD, which covers airfare, lodging, meals, transportation, participation in World Trade Day, and two private business-to-business meetings.

 

LANGUAGE

Portions of the conference will be conducted primarily in Japanese. Translators will be on hand for those portions conducted in English.
