Japan & the Global Path to Zero Emissions

Japan has long been a global leader in energy efficiency. Local resource constraints and heavy reliance on global markets for energy and raw materials incentivize both policymakers and companies to continually trim national energy budgets. However, Japan has also played a critical role developing the technologies and policies that kick-started electric car, renewable energy, and international carbon markets.
