NDK started in 1995 as a small anime festival at the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver.  Since then, we have grown to the largest convention in 13 surrounding states, excluding Texas.  We pride ourselves on offering a small-convention atmosphere with excellent programming, cultural material, and appearances from our wonderful Guests of Honor.

For us, the love of anime and Japanese culture isn’t just a marketing tool or a nifty side feature on our schedule; It’s our purpose for existing and a mandate of our Nonprofit Charter. We bring people together to further the knowledge of Japanese Art, animation and culture, and welcome people from all over the region under our roof.

NDK is also proud to be a place dedicated to community and inclusivity. We welcome people of all fandoms, ethnicities and identities…and have for our whole existence. We choose charities that mean something to the community both local and nationwide. We actually care, and will continue to do so as long as we possibly can. NDK is a labor of love, created by it’s staff and volunteers.  At NDK, we want you to have a place to just be yourself and meet other folks like you.
