Sakura Square LLC

Sakura Square LLC manages and operates Sakura Square, located in downtown Denver at 20th Street between Lawrence and Larimer Streets.

Established in 1973, Sakura Square is a destination for those seeking Japanese goods and services and is home to residents of the 20-story Tamai Tower apartment complex. A small garden plaza at the Tamai Tower entrance conveys the history of Japanese-Americans in Denver through statues and plaques of Governor Ralph L. Carr, Minoru Yasui and Rev. Yoshitaka Tamai. The Denver Buddhist Temple anchors Sakura Square and provides a spiritual center as well as a unique cultural and community gathering place.

Every June, Sakura Square is the host location of the annual Sakura Matsuri, or Cherry Blossom Festival, which features Japanese dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, Japanese arts and food and a variety of Asian goods vendors. The annual event draws a variety of attendees from all over to take part in their showcases and family friendly events. You can look for the Japan America Society of Colorado booth each year at the Sakura Matsuri!
