JASC Dragon Boat Team
JASC sponsored a Dragon Boat team for the first time in 2018. Team Nichi-Bei-GO had such a great time that with overwhelming requests from the JASC community, we have decided to sponsor a team for 2019! Our boat is made up of both Japanese and non-Japanese JASC members. You do not need prior paddling experience. (Our 2018 team was 90% novices!) We are competitive, but mainly focus on having a great time out on the water learning to paddle as one. If you are looking for a Japan-related team to join, enjoy being in a boat and are ready to smile and sweat, please join us!
JASC races in the 250 meter Flag Catching Division at the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival on Sloan’s Lake. Our team must consist of 8 male paddlers, 8 female paddlers, 2 paddlers of either gender, 1 drummer (taiko drum) and 1 flag catcher. We also have 5 registered alternates who are part of the team, bringing our official team to 25 people. We also keep a wait list for those who would like to join us if the opportunity arises. All Dragon Boat team members must be members of JASC (click HERE for membership info). This year’s festival is the weekend of July 27-28, 2019. We are currently scheduled to race on Saturday, July 27th.
Team Nichi-Bei-GO is full for 2019. If you would like to be on the 2019 wait list or express interest in the 2020 team, please contact Jessyca: firstname.lastname@example.org
