Japan America Society of Colorado (JASC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Denver, CO. JASC’s mission is to expand people-to-people relationships by serving as a bridge to connect Colorado and Japan through business, education, and cultural opportunities. We strive to serve as the premier resource for companies and individuals in Colorado who are working with or have connections to Japan. JASC accomplishes this mission, in part, by hosting various events and programs throughout the year and sharing Japan-related resources and events online. JOB DESCRIPTION

Japan America Society of Colorado (JASC) is offering an unpaid summer internship position for a candidate with a passion for Colorado-Japan relations and a desire to gain professional experience in the non-profit sector. Intermediate Japanese language ability is strongly preferred, but not an absolute requirement.

MARKETING, PR, & EVENT SUPPORT
This summer intern will assist with events (some of which occur on weekends/ evenings), social media creation/analytics, website improvements, and marketing. Time permitting, some archiving and digitizing of historical JASC documents.

  • Work with Executive Director to learn and identify potential posting content and ideas, following the framework established by the JASC marketing committee

  • Share draft posts with ED ahead of time for approval

  • Posting to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn – following established protocols for each different service

  • Provide JASC with social media analytics and website analytics, updated regularly

  • Provide social media best-practice guidelines and recommendations at the end of the project period

  • Provide support at JASC events including:

    • Charity Golf Tournament

    • Sakura-matsuri

    • Dragon Boat Festival

    • other various duties as requested

DETAILS

  • Location: The JASC office in downtown Denver (near the Capitol building): 1373 Grant St, Denver, CO 80203

  • Dates: TBD

  • Hours: 10 hours per week or more as needed

  • Schedule: Intern will report to the JASC office once a week. All other work hours may be done remotely. More office hours may be requested to support upcoming major events.

  • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship position. JASC is happy to provide professional introductions where appropriate, and referrals for future employers and/ or school applications. Free entry to all JASC events during the internship period.
